We are actively looking for a Payroll Officer for an international bank in the heart of Brussels.
As a Payroll Officer, you will:
- Completes all payroll processes for an assigned country or one large-scale payroll process for an assigned region.
- Independently complete records management processes, prepare payroll accounting documents and develop reports for management.
- Implement payroll policies and procedures that comply with all relevant laws, policies and regulations.
- Analyze payroll processes, develop reports and suggest improvements to management.
- Independently execute small special projects or contribute to a portion of larger special projects.
- Ensure that all statutory regulations and payments to third parties including regulatory and taxing bodies are in compliance with country and/or regional law.
- Assist more senior professionals in developing recommendations for Country Managers and Senior HR Business Partners on tax matters of lower complexity related to payroll provisions in the assigned country or around a complex process.
- Manage and negotiate with vendors, controllers, regulators, country managers and workers counsels.
- Interact with these parties directly to gather information or assist with issue resolution.
- Contribute to the implementation of benefits and compensation changes into the assigned country payroll system or adjusts the assigned payroll process to accommodate the change.
- Confirm the implementation procedure with more senior professionals.
- Contribute to the development of accounting schedules and performs analyse of system efficiencies.
- Contribute to accounting system reconciliation and accuracy as needed.
- Complete assigned audit tasks and may review the work of more junior professionals.
- No direct reports, provide guidance to more junior professionals as needed.
We are looking for the following profile:
- Bachelor‘s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- 3-5 years of total work experience is preferred.
- Fluency in French and English.
- Knowledge of the following programs: strada, SAP, Oracle, Partenat and Exchange.
- Knowledge of basic accounting.
- Can work independently but also within a team.
- Can work under pressure.
