As Engineering Project Manager of our Fab Engineering department (FABENG), you will be responsible for managing and improving Fab tool install projects and be owner of the associated business management processes. You’ll be a single point of contact for Facility interrupt planning and the owner/administrator of the overall master installation schedule for all tools progressing through the procurement phase. You will directly lead a team of tool install engineers to document fab tool configurations including location on the cleanroom floor, auxiliary equipment specifications, facilities quantities and quality requirements and all necessary coordination between various internal departments and customers. Fab Engineering Department (FABENG): Our Fab Engineering team is responsible for various pilot production tools and devices, often first versions, sometimes even prototypes. Our equipment and process engineers intensively collaborate with process engineers and equipment manufacturers to identify, execute and evaluate improvement opportunities on our unique pilot production tools. These highly motivated engineers identify preventative actions and assure the correct maintenance and repair of the equipment is guaranteed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Our process engineers maintain the processes and develop e.g. backup processes or perform process optimizations. What you will do As the Tool Install Project Manager of our Fab Engineering department (FABENG), you will be responsible for driving and improving the installation planning master schedule and engineering design for all fab equipment proceeding through the procurement process. In addition, you will initiate and drive FABENG-wide projects and act as a FABENG representative in imec-wide projects as needed or where the scope of responsibility aligns with, or impacts, tool installations. You will be specifically responsible for:
- Leading a team of Tool Install Engineers who are dedicated to establishing and documenting the complete list of technical specifications associated with each tool configuration.
- Through the Tool Install Engineers, you will be responsible for the performance of all tool install teams. This means leading the team and guiding the interactions with the Facilities Hookup team, the OEM, Warehouse and Procurement, Step Development, etc. This also means being able to take decisions based on incomplete information.
- Manage and establish the necessary support for hardware and process engineering tasks within these PAT teams.
- You guarantee proper communication & collaboration within Fab and with neighboring departments, i.e. operations, but also e.g. warehouse, facilities and EHS associated with the various milestones of tool installations
- You manage the daily operations of the PAT teams from an engineering perspective, i.e. close collaboration with the hookup contractors, OEMs, operations WIP leads/area leads, supply-chain/warehouse, and facilities. The goal is to improve our quality and overall installation time from a strategic and tactical perspective.
