Job description
Your main responsibilities include:
- defining mission, strategy, and objectives:
- contributing to the operationalization and implementation of the mission, strategy, and objectives of Procurement BeLux
- procurement:
- managing procurement requests in accordance with the procurement policy and service levels (ensuring competition where necessary, negotiating, contracting…)
- handling mainly buyer and contract management files for the following scope: IT, HR, Finance, Communication, and Real Estate; also focusing on the business partner or account manager role for the respective scope
- understanding and applying the strategic procurement process (early involvement) to maximally contribute to achieving procurement objectives (efficient and effective sourcing from suppliers)
- knowing and understanding the categories and markets (industry, suppliers, contractors, innovations…) and internal needs (specifications, etc.) to translate organizational needs into the most suitable procurement strategy
- negotiating business agreements and closing deals to ensure maximum added value and minimize risks
- Procurement Business Partner:
- establishing and managing strategic plans + periodic updates (priorities, target savings…)
- continuous internal account management/SPOC for all procurement-related topics
- actively collaborating with internal client stakeholders
- working with other procurement teams to ensure end-to-end account management
- Buyer role for Indirect Spend categories
- Contract Manager (CM):
- managing the lifecycle of existing contracts (contract extension, contract optimization…)
- negotiating and managing new (recurring) contracts
- supporting other roles (PPL, SME…) with expertise in contract management and administrative expertise
- acting as a mediator in discussions between internal clients and suppliers
- collaborating with other procurement teams to ensure contract management aligns with procurement governance (e.g., negotiating catalogs with the supplier and informing the analyst for upload)
Profile
- a university master’s degree or equivalent through relevant experience
- a minimum of >7 years of experience in indirect spend domains
- extensive procurement skills and knowledge: negotiation, contracting, financial and cost management, contracts, and procurement law
- proficiency in procurement tools
- proficiency in the Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- a good understanding of business operations in support entities
- very good communication and influencing skills
- oral and written proficiency in at least 2 of the 3 languages: English, French, and Dutch
