Operating under the principle of extended producer responsibility, they collaborate closely with manufacturers, importers, municipalities, and recycling facilities to ensure the efficient collection, sorting, and recycling of packaging materials such as paper, cardboard, glass, plastics, and metals.
Beyond managing waste logistics, our client plays a vital role in public education, partnering with schools, businesses, and community groups to raise awareness about recycling practices and promote participation in recycling programs.

As Account & Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Build a sustainable trust relationship with various contacts in your client portfolio, including some Flemish waste inter-municipal associations, the operational private partners active in their regions, and the recyclers for the different plastic streams.
- Coordinate activities and manage contracts with plastic recyclers in Belgium and neighboring countries.
- Be the primary contact within the company for plastic recycling and work closely with colleagues from other teams such as quality & control, design for recycling, and innovation.
- Manage the contracts between the company and about three Flemish inter-municipal associations.
- Organize and evaluate market inquiries for the collection of PMD, paper cardboard, and glass with your inter-municipal associations working with private partners.
- Be responsible for budget monitoring, data tracking, and awareness-raising.
- Focus on operational and cost efficiency and strive to optimize recycling processes and associated administrative tasks.
- Safeguard the interests and respond to the needs of recyclers and inter-municipal associations in various internal consultations and topics, always aiming for optimal service delivery.
- Coordinate one or more internal projects as a project manager (with guidance from the Project Management Officer) and be encouraged to take the initiative within a continuously evolving organization.
The successful candidate will have the following qualities:
- Hold a master's degree with a scientific background.
- Fluent in Dutch, French, and English
- Relevant work experience, preferably in managing projects related to plastic production or recycling.
- Excellent communication skills, both orally and written.
- Ability to persuade people using relevant and compelling arguments to defend your standpoint and handle counterarguments effectively.
- Work accurately and with an analytical mindset.
- Have sufficient affinity with numbers to manage large budgets.
- Results, solutions, and customer-oriented and proactive.
- Active listener and ability to create an open dialogue with both external and internal stakeholders.
