Mission Are you an experienced accountant looking for a challenging role within a dynamic and growing organization? Unifiedpost is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Belgium. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the daily accounting and the monthly and year-end closing for Unifiedpost. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager, Belgium. In this role, you will be a key person within our accounting team, performing daily accounting tasks, coordinating with junior accountants, and ensuring our financial reporting is accurate and timely. You will be responsible for preparing tax declarations and reporting to the National Bank. Responsibilities This is what we expect of you:
- Perform and oversee daily accounting tasks, delegating to junior accountants as necessary.
- Prepare and file VAT, MOSS, and other tax declarations.
- Collect, analyse, and summarise account information.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Complete quarterly group reporting packages.
- Complete yearly statutory reporting.
- Prepare balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
- Compile and publish annual accounts in Belgium.
- Prepare all necessary local tax declarations.
- Audit financial transactions and document accounting control procedures.
- Stay updated on financial policies, regulations, and legislation.
- Serve as the key user for NetSuite.
- Follow accounting principles and quality standards.
- Adhere to deadlines.
- Apply work procedures, guidelines, and instructions in performing job responsibilities and tasks.
- Train, mentor, and coach junior accountants to ensure knowledge sharing.
Technical competencies We are looking for candidates who have:
- An advanced degree in accounting.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting (BEGAAP) and corporate finance principles and procedures.
- Good knowledge of local corporate tax legislation.
- Expertise in Excel.
- Attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
