Project Manager Dual Use Technology
Functieomschrijving
- You take on the (strategic) coordination of ambitious projects within VLIZ (for example in the context of the European Defense Fund, EDF);
- You oversee the successful implementation of these projects within the institute. In this context, you actively interact with a multidisciplinary project team and handle the necessary reporting in cooperation with the technological and administrative experts at VLIZ;
- You represent VLIZ, along with colleagues, at national and international project meetings as well as in relevant networks and conferences, serving as an ambassador for the institute;
- You support and further develop the internal governance and management of dual use projects;
- You manage and expand the portfolio of R&I projects and proposals that have a dual use and/or offshore security finality. In this regard, you actively seek and develop new project/collaboration opportunities for VLIZ;
- You proactively invest in building up the necessary knowledge and expertise (e.g. follow-up of relevant policies, scientific and technological developments, etc.).
Profiel
- You hold a master's degree (in natural sciences, social sciences, (bio)engineering, etc.) (or equivalent experience);
- You have proven experience in managing (complex) projects;
- You have an affinity with (marine/maritime) research, innovation and technology;
- Previous experience and/or knowledge regarding marine observations and data management is considered an added value;
- You can write fluently and communicate clearly, preferably in both Dutch and English. A proficiency in French is considered an added value;
- You have a sharp and analytical mind and possess a healthy dose of strategic insight and diplomacy;
- You are eager to work in an international context;
- An understanding of the defense context (legislation, policy, funding, etc.) is considered an added value;
- Knowledge about Mine Countermeasures (MCM) and relevant technology is considered an added value.
