ICT Support Engineer 2

Functieomschrijving

  • The ICT Support Engineer Level 2 provides advanced technical support and expertise to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems and services. This role involves troubleshooting complex issues, maintaining IT infrastructure, and supporting end-users across various platforms, including Windows, Linux, and cloud-based environments. The role is critical for delivering high-quality ICT services and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization. Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Resolve escalated technical issues from Level 1 support, including hardware, software, and network-related problems.
    • Provide remote and on-site support to users across the organization.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux environments.
    System Administration
    • Perform routine maintenance, updates, and backups for servers, workstations, and network devices.
    • Configure, monitor, and manage IT systems, ensuring compliance with security and operational policies.
    • Support virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and storage solutions.
    Network Support
    • Assist in maintaining network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN configurations.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
    Project Support
    • Collaborate on IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
    • Participate in designing and implementing IT solutions to meet business requirements.
    Documentation & Training
    • Document solutions, procedures, and system configurations in detail.
    • Provide training and guidance to Level 1 support staff and end-users.
    Customer Service
    • Deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring timely resolution of incidents and effective communication with stakeholders.

Profiel

Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Windows Server administration Toon nummer) and Active Directory.
  • Solid knowledge of Linux systems and command-line tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network device configuration.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Experience with endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune, SCCM).
  • Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch or French proficiency is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support, including at least 1 year in a Level 2 capacity.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, RHCSA).
