USG Professionals is looking for a Business Analyst for our client in the Brussels region. This position can be either as a USG Project Consultant or on a freelance basis!
Your main tasks.
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business / Functional Analyst to join their team in the express logistics industry. The ideal candidate will possess expert analytical skills, a deep understanding of logistics operations (line haul movement planning and control, both air and ground), and excellent communication abilities to facilitate effective collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders. The Business / Functional Analyst plays a pivotal role in gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements, as well as translating business needs into actionable IT solutions.
What is your responsibility?
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for new aviation IT systems.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of existing processes and applications to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Develop comprehensive documentation of conceptual business requirements & detailed functional requirements, and other relevant documentation to clearly articulate business needs.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure alignment between business requirements and IT solutions, providing clarification and guidance as needed.
- Contribute to and review the design of application user interfaces to ensure usability and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful implementation of IT projects within scope, timeline, and budget constraints.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in aviation IT to proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
What are your qualifications?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Engineering or related field. A master's degree is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience in aviation-specific domains such as capacity optimization, demand forecasting and resource allocation is a plus but is particularly valuable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear and actionable deliverables.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience with greenfield business analysis - feeding into the development of brand new applications - is a must.
- Expert knowledge and proven experience with ALL of the following model-driven structured analysis techniques (e.g. SA/SD, Information Engineering or equivalent) is a also must:
business process modeling
logical data modeling: entity-relationship or object/class modeling
business rule specification
business service specification
use case analysis.
- Profound understanding of Domain Driven Design concepts (more specifically: strategic design) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies, as well as experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) is a plus.
