Reinsurance Claims Operations Officer

Job description

As Reinsurance Claims Operations Officer you will be responsible for:
  • Manage and oversee the handling of reinsurance treaty claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing, evaluation, and settlement, both inwards (assumed reinsurance) and outwards (retrocession);
  • Provide expert advice on claims matters, including interpretation of reinsurance treaty terms and conditions;
  • Work closely with underwriters, actuaries, brokers and clients to develop claims strategies that align with business objectives;
  • Conduct thorough analysis of large and complex claims to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement;
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and brokers, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction;
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and procedures and implementation of claims management including the production of regular and comprehensive claims reports.

Profile

The required profile for the Reinsurance Claims Operations Officer position:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Insurance, Law, or equivalent;
  • At least 5 years of experience in property and/or casualty treaty claims management within a reinsurance or insurance environment;
  • Strong knowledge of reinsurance concepts and market practices;
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills;
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools;
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships at all levels.
