The Human Resources Manager will be leading essential HR activities at the R&D Center of Excellence in Ghlin (:140 employees from all Business Units) and at the Executive office in Brussels (:25 employees), ensuring efficient HR service delivery and acting as a key player in establishing a robust HR infrastructure, legal compliance and positive work environment.
This includes, but is not limited to, HR operations management of the end-to-end employee lifecycle for the assigned sites, recruitment, performance management, training, remuneration, benefits, employee engagement, offboarding, HR projects, management of relationships with the Works council and Health and Safety Committee, acting as primary point of contact for social legislation, collective labour agreements and implementation of corporate HR initiatives and processesAs HR Manager, the position holder will be responsible for:
- Managing and advising on all HR processes including talent acquisition, immigration, internal mobility, employee relations, total rewards, training and performance management
- Serving as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on all HR matters; be a force of proposal and provide daily HR support
- Providing expert guidance on managing complex organizational and people issues, employment practices, policies and benefits
- Working closely with managers to identify and address individual employee relations, performance management and group issues in line with local legislation and in ways that build healthy, and productive work environments
- Contributing to and supporting the implementation and administration of HR processes and programs that increase the productivity, efficiency, competence, and effectiveness of the organization, by identifying opportunities for process improvements & cost optimization
- Ensuring talent acquisition and on-boarding as per the needs of the organization
- Leading internal communication and local HR external communication, promoting the company values and the employer brand of Vesuvius in Belgium through HR external and diversified networks
- Assisting managers in assessing, identifying resources and implementing development plans to meet employee/departments training needs
- Serve as the primary liaison with employee representatives and works councils, maintaining constructive relationships and ensuring compliance with local labor laws
- Facilitating annual Group processes (annual performance, merit review, variable pay programs...) and leading corporate HR initiatives locally (Engagement survey, Living the values award...)
- Contributing to various projects (competencies matrix, Sustainability related local initiatives...)
Leading local HR team and being an active member of Site Management Committee
The position requires a minimum Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration or Psychology
- 10+ years of generalist human resources management experience with ideally exposure to an industrial, international environment
- Solid focus and experience in continuous improvement (processes, tools, total reward...)
- Experience in managing the relationship with the Employee Representative (works councils and union members) and the Health and Safety Committee
- Past track record of interacting and connecting with people from different cultures and integrating them into the Belgian context
- Accustomed to partner/interact with all levels of stakeholders (including executives) across all Business Units based outside of Belgium
- Successful experience in leading a team
- Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting Belgian labor law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations and employee engagement
- Very solid command of French and English is a must
