We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Country Warehouse & Logistics Manager to join our sales team based in Ternat, Belgium. This role is key in overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. The manager will lead a team of warehouse employees and external logistics providers.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
-Develop and implement best practices for warehouse and logistics management.
-Oversee the quality, quantity, delivery schedules, and transportation costs.
-Ensure timely dispatch of all completed orders.
-Collaborate with the procurement manager to select, evaluate, and negotiate contracts and rates with transport carriers.
-Measure warehouse and carrier performance against service benchmarks.
-Plan and track incoming and outgoing deliveries.
-Supervise logistics, warehousing, transportation, and customer service activities.
-Organize warehouse space, label products, map routes, and handle shipment processing.
-Address any issues or complaints efficiently.
-Identify inefficiencies, maintain a record of continuous improvement and cost-saving opportunities, and prioritize actions.
-Lead daily KPI review meetings, report on target achievements, and define necessary actions.
-Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team to meet set objectives, deliver best practices, add value, and drive continuous improvement.
-Ensure that all activities under your supervision comply with health, safety, and environmental policies to guarantee the wellbeing of employees and visitors.
-Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders involved in the logistics process.
Profiel
* Prior experience in working within logistics, supply chain, or transportation roles, with an in-depth understanding of logistics operations and workflows.
* Proficiency in IT systems, including familiarity with specialized platforms like ERP (preferably SAP).
* Ability to interpret and manipulate data to produce valuable insights.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, along with hands-on experience using ERP/MRP systems.
* Advanced leadership skills with a background in managing personnel, overseeing projects, controlling budgets (both operational and capital expenditures), and executing strategic plans.
* Outstanding skills in problem-solving, communication, team collaboration, and interpersonal interactions.
Formation: A Bachelor's Degree in Business administration, logistics, supply chain, or relevant field
Connaissances professionnelles: Experience in the steel or metal fabrication industry (such as welding, forming, bending, cutting) is an advantage
Connaissances linguistiques: You are fluent in French or Dutch and proficient in English
