In our Sales & Research Center in Brussels we are looking for an Business Development Manager.

Function


As Business Development Manager, you will support our mission to develop a profitable PLA bioplastics business. You will play a crucial role in commercial and marketing activities. In this context, you will create and implement new market applications by setting up partnerships along the entire value chain. You will also define and implement processes to achieve ambitious goals.


Main Activities



  • Business Development


    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with our strategy roadmap and guide opportunities through the sales funnel.

    • Build-up business case to assess commercial & technical viability of new opportunities.

    • Track opportunities using CRM database and monitor/report a commercial dashboard.

    • Set-up partnerships with different actors along the value chain to support development and validation of new PLA-based solutions in existing and/or new market areas.

    • Understand customer needs and translate that into strong value proposition for PLA. Work in close collaboration with the marketing team and the application development team to ensure that adapted technical solutions are developed and offered to our customers.

    • Deploy new technical solutions into identified market segments through intensive prospecting of new potential customers.





  • Sales

    • Manage relationships with prospects/customers through all phases of the development project and negotiate commercial contracts at launch phase.

    • Set targets and ensure profit margins.





  • Market Intelligence

    • Understand and validate the market size and the entire value chain when entering into a new industry/market, in collaboration with the marketing team.





  • Market Development:

    • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and engage with stakeholders to promote PLA, fostering collaborations and partnerships





Profiel


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Engineering

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in business development and sales with a proven track record

  • Technical background with experience in plastics/bioplastics industry (packaging, automotive, healthcare, etc.) is preferred

  • Passion for sustainability and making positive changes on the planet


Scope of the function


You will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer
