Data Governance Lead (m/f/x)The role of the Data Governance Lead is to be the ambassador for the Data Governance program and of being a Data Driven organization in general. He or she explains and presents the data value creation to all layers of the organization, including upper management, and promote the Data Driven company vision, and data objectives across the organization.
The Data Governance Lead presides the Data Steward and Data Owner Chapters.
The Data Governance Lead is also expected to initiate new ideas, motivate people, build consensus and help solve data problems. To accomplish this, the Data Governance Lead can count on a network of trusted colleagues (Stewards and Owners) across the entire organization. The Data Governance Lead also uses this network to accomplish change acceptance of the different organizational and business units.
Your key responsibilities :1. Strategy and Planning :
- Have a good overview of the entire organization and participate in translating company strategy into a data management and governance strategy;
- Endorse this data strategy, not only for one department, but for all departments across the organization;
- Raise awareness across the entire organization about the importance of Data Quality and Data Governance;
- Support change management initiatives.
2. Operational Data Governance Management :
- Coordinate Data Governance activities;
- Ensure the different clusters understand each other’s needs concerning ‘fit-for- purpose data”;
- Define the Data Governance Objectives and ensure the related Key Results are defined by the Data Owners;
- Act as a data diplomat, bringing people together to make it easier to work with data;
- Identify and ensure the resolution of data quality issues, such as uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness, in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Capture what the stakeholders need, what is important to them and ensure that these needs are covered as far as data is concerned
