Helpdesk Support Engineer
Job description
As a Helpdesk Support Engineer, your role involves providing first and second-line IT support to end users. Your key responsibilities include:
- Delivering technical support by researching and answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining workstations.
- Assisting clients by identifying problems, finding solutions, and guiding them through corrective steps.
- Being an integral part of the ICT ServiceDesk team, offering support in person, over the phone, or via remote access.
- Taking ownership of user issues and ensuring their resolution.
- Handling and troubleshooting problems with computer software, peripherals, and hardware.
- Resolving network issues and printer problems.
- Ensuring follow-up on incidents and requests, involving underlying support groups as necessary.
- Staging PCs and creating user guides and support materials.
- Proactively working to continuously improve the quality of service.
Profile
Skills & Qualifications
- Initial experience in customer or client support
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Basic knowledge of networks and telecommunications (TCP/IP).
- Strong understanding of PC hardware.
- Ability to provide support for mobile devices (iOS, Android).
- Capability to explain technical solutions to internal clients in a non-technical manner.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Team player, working constructively and professionally with colleagues across the organization.
- Ability to function independently and in a disciplined manner within a team.
- Service-oriented mindset, and excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Driven, creative, dynamic, and able to handle stress.
