Plant Controller
Job description
- Assist internal stakeholders, various departments, management, and external parties by fulfilling data and analysis requests;
- Manage and actively support the monthly closing process;
- Review detailed account analyses and reconcile balance sheets;
- Respond promptly to internal and external audit requests;
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports;
- Lead and prepare the annual budget, including establishing standard costs, and the quarterly forecast process for plant operations;
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by supporting management initiatives and developing and documenting new processes within the Finance and Controlling function;
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Operations team to provide relevant data for aligning operational and financial goals and driving results;
- Analyze key operational KPIs to support financial reporting and variances to standards;
- Manage, recommend, and assist with site, sourcing, and co-pack capital budgets, including creating Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR) and tracking costs, benefits, and approvals;
- Maintain an operational understanding of manufacturing value streams and their financial components (e.g., volume, overhead cost, labor cost, standards, yields, productivity);
- Assist in ad hoc reporting for management.
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field;
- Fluency in both English and Dutch;
- Minimum of 8 years of related accounting experience;
- Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial industries;
- Proficient in understanding US GAAP is a plus;
- Strong understanding and knowledge of standard product costs;
- Familiarity with SOX and audit controls/requirements;
- Experience with ERP systems (QAD and SAP preferred);
- Highly proficient in Excel, proficient in PowerPoint and Word;
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment;
- Capable of balancing priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality;
- Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels;
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team;
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize.
