USG Professionals is looking for a Business Process Analyst for our client in the Brussels region. This position can be either as a USG Project Consultant or on a freelance basis!

As a Business Analyst at SITO, you will play a key role in the digital transformation of our client. It has set ambitious goals for improving efficiency and quality. Additionally, they must support the energy transition, the increase in renewable energy, and the nuclear phase-out. To achieve these goals, a thorough digitalization of our activities and support for their people is essential. Furthermore, where necessary, we must harmonize their processes.

The Business Analyst is responsible for designing efficient business processes. You will capture business needs and translate them into specifications for IT systems. In this role, you will bridge the gap between the business and users, and the various IT partners (functional analysts, project managers, architects, etc.), challenging all parties involved. The goal is to develop and maintain the necessary IT tools to optimally and pragmatically support business processes.
We are looking for a business analyst to analyze and model our Assets and Infrastructure processes in Sparx Enterprise Architect. They use the BPMN 2.0 methodology for this, and it must be aligned with others. As a Business Process Analyst, you will also contribute to the further development of our methodology and, if necessary, coach other Business Analysts. Additionally, the Business Analyst may also provide support for other projects in developing Business Requirements.

Specifically, the tasks include:

• Modeling business processes and guiding the business in redesigning their processes.
• Challenging the business regarding their needs and the to-be processes.
• Harmonizing business processes across various departments within Elia and between Elia and our German sister company, 50Hz.
• Identifying business needs and translating them into accepted business requirements in the form of epics/features/user stories.
• Developing necessary business information models: these describe the information needed to fulfill the various requirements (e.g., interfaces, screens, reports, etc.).
• Aligning and validating requirements between/with the business and IT.
• Validating the functional analysis of IT.
• After tool implementation: testing and validating releases, including support in UAT.
• Playing an active role in change management, including developing training materials and providing training (to end-users) according to the existing change management methodology, supported by the change management toolkit.
• Supporting the business in using IT tools during post-implementation.

• Master's degree in a technical or economic field or equivalent through experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience as a business analyst, with experience in identifying needs, drafting business requirements, and developing business processes.
• Good knowledge of English is required (reading, writing). A very good knowledge of Dutch or French is required (speaking, reading, writing), and the second national language should be understood.
• Strong analytical skills and a critical mindset. You are not afraid to challenge.
• Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team. You can develop consensus and convince various stakeholders.
• Skilled in planning and organizing.
• A sufficient degree of customer orientation and flexibility.
• For the project related to planning management, a basic knowledge of MS Project is required (or the willingness to learn it).
• Knowledge of BPMN and UML.
• Experience with tools like EA (Enterprise Architect), Jira, and DevOps is a plus.
• Experience in the electricity sector is an added value.
