Het nieuwstedelijk is the city theatre of Leuven, Hasselt and Genk. It is an artist-run theatre house that actively shapes the city and society of tomorrow. Text, theatre, music, audio and debate form the core of our artistic work.
At het Nieuwstedelijk, we place great value on a sustainable and meaningful volunteer program. Would you like to help out at our evening performances in OPEK on a voluntary basis? Are your interested in getting to know our theatre house from a different perspective and connecting with our regular staff, actors, directors and fellow volunteers? Job description
As a volunteer, you will have a varied set of tasks:
- Welcoming our artists (setting the table, eating with the actors and the team, clearing the table, loading the dishwasher, etc.)
- Guiding our audience through the OPEK building
- Warmly welcoming the audience
- Scanning tickets for the performance
- Selling theatre booklets and CDs after the show
- Assisting at receptions, premieres and parties (setting up tables, chilling drinks, ensuring the evening runs smoothly, etc.)

- You are open and sociable.
- You are helpful.
- You enjoy working in a team.
- You like to roll up your sleeves and get involved.
- You have a passion for, or interest in, culture and theatre.
