Reinsurance Officer
Job description
As a Reinsurance Officer, you will be responsible for the administrative and accounting processing of ceded and/or accepted reinsurance business, in order to provide and/or process reinsurance statements in a timely and correct manner, with the aim of ensuring timely and correct accounting and IT recording.
- You will draw up and computer-record statements of ceded reinsurance transactions, ensuring that transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- You will be responsible for the accounting and administrative management of accepted reinsurance business under BeGAAP and IFRS standards, in order to identify payments received, approve incoming documents and record and monitor payments for flawless accounting.
- You will reconcile the intercompany reinsurance flows of Credendo and the sub-ledgers (WebXI, SAP FSRI) taking into account the cash flows and technical provisions, in the context of the requirements of the external audit.
- You will develop tools and draw up procedures to optimise the administrative activities of the Reinsurance department, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes.
- You will provide administrative support to the Reinsurance sales teams, to maximise the efficiency of the department's internal operations.
- You will create and update dashboards to provide a detailed reporting basis for line managers.
Profile
- You hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
- You have initial experience in accounting, ideally in the field of reinsurance or insurance.
- You show very good oral and written proficiency in French and/or Dutch and you have a good oral and written knowledge of English.
- You like working with numbers.
- You are familiar with BeGAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
- You have a good command of IT tools, including Microsoft Office.
- You are able to work with strict deadlines while managing several priorities.
- You like working autonomously yet also show team spirit.
