Job description
You are responsible for the product and portfolio management of Corporate Property Insurance and the involved team of Underwriters. In this role, you will manage 10 to 12 employees, including a team leader.
Your role includes the following:
- As national product manager, you determine the acceptance guidelines within your domain in collaboration with the marketing department and communicate these to your team of Underwriters.
- You help define the ambitions for growth, profitability and product range and translate these into concrete objectives and plans for the teams.
- You proactively monitor the development of the portfolio and profitability and take initiatives to adjust these and, where necessary, adjust acceptance rules, pricings and conditions.
- You work closely with colleagues from Risk Advice so that the relevant information for acceptance is collected in the field and sufficient prevention agreements are made.
- You can rely on your Team Manager for the practical division of work within the team and the guidance of employees in the introduction of new processes. Your focus is on the balanced development of the insurance technical competencies within the team. Together you coach the team.
- You stimulate the consultation with other stakeholders within our organization.
- You follow up the most complex files yourself and maintain good relationships with brokers, the Sales team and a number of larger clients.
- You stay informed of evolutions and developments within your industry and keep a good view of the needs and supply on the market. You contribute to product innovation and participate where necessary in external and internal consultation bodies.
Profile
- You have a master's degree or a bachelor's degree with relevant work experience.
- You have thorough technical knowledge of property insurance and underwriting. In addition, you also have experience in project management and/or people management.
- You have a perfect knowledge of Dutch or French and a good knowledge of the other national language. In addition, you also have a good to very good knowledge of English.
- You are able to maintain an overview at all times: you monitor the consequences of decisions, also in the long term, and realize the set qualitative and quantitative objectives.
- You work enthusiastically and know how to remove resistance and you can also convince in difficult cases.
- As a people manager, you give team members the space to take responsibility and you create the conditions for the further specialization of the employees. You create team spirit and ensure compliance with agreements.
- Where necessary, you can quickly switch between concrete and abstract, between details and large wholes.
