USG Professionals is looking for a Data Engineer for our client in the Brussels area. This position is available as a USG Project Consultant or on a freelance basis!

Our client is currently looking for a Medior Data Engineer to provide support to both companies. Given the increased focus on data, advanced analytics and machine learning and the need to build the technical foundation that will support the organisation.

Primary Tasks and responsibilities

• You will be in charge of data gathering, consolidation and preparation for the data initiatives from the different BI and Data Science teams.
• Develop, construct and maintain the Data Cloud Architecture, such as Datalake, EDW, Datamarts according to the data governance global strategy.
• Transform the IT strategy in an architecture that represents goals and target of the business
• Help formulate the client's need/requirement in high level of delivery
• Summarize the needs/requirements in a clear and deployable overview of tasks
• Assess technical risks and come up with mitigation strategies
• Develop new specs, documentation, participate in the development of technical procedures and user support guides
• ollaborate with teams to integrate systems
• Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
• Develop and update technical documentation

Technical profile requirements

• +3 years of experience as Data Engineer 
• Good experience in Big Data tools technologies : Python, Spark, Hive or other data processing technologies.
• Working knowledge of database technologies (SQL) 
• Good knowledge of Cloud tools technologies and in any DWH-on-Cloud solution (Azure and/or AWS) in a professional environment is an asset 
• Good knowledge in any data orchestration/scheduling tool 
• Good knowledge of a ETL tool 
• Working knowledge of star-schema and/or Data Vault modelling is a plus 
• Agile minded 
• Good knowledge of business analytics and data science

AWS

• First experience on AWS, in CDK and/or Cloud Formation and/or Terraform experience
• Step function global knowledge, AWS Orchestrator
• Airflow, Kubernetes is big plus.
• Solution Architect Associate certif (preferred) or Data Engineer certif is a big plus

 
Azure

• Must have Basic knowledge of Azure, Azure Administration Certif AZ104(preferred)  or Data engineering on Microsoft Azure DB203
• The candidate should be able to code, know the principle of CICD and infra as code and know about orchestration tools.
• Admin Associate Certif is also a plus.
• Another plus is to have knowledge Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric but not mandatory
• ARM template knowledge and/or Terraform
