Are you an enterprising IT professional who enjoys bridging the gap between business and technology, as well as rolling up your sleeves to provide operational support? Then you are the Functional Analyst we are looking for for our ICT Applications team at Sodexo, so that together we can ensure excellent service at our operations across Belgium. As a Functional Analyst, you play a crucial role in optimising our business processes by identifying and implementing the right software solutions. You are a self-starter who gets energy from analysing complex issues and presenting clear advice to various stakeholders. In addition, you also get energy from the operational support of users and love to investigate and analyse the application in person on location as well. Your responsibilities as a functional analyst ICT (Food & Digital) include:
- Researcher and interlocutor: You are a fluent communicator and deep listener. You will consult with all stakeholders within Sodexo to define the requirements of a software package. You will mainly focus on software packages required for the food and digital departments. You will engage with end-users such as chefs, hospitality managers, executives, etc. to define the requirements for a software package and the current gaps. You are strong enough to help set priorities and act accordingly.
- Comparative market analysis: you compare the existing software packages on the market and look for the package that best suits Sodexo's needs. You do a thorough analysis of all the functionalities of the packages on the market and look for the best fit. You do this taking into account certain preconditions, such as legislation and budget. You conduct market comparative research and draw up qualitative and clear documentation on your findings (presentations, reports, flow charts, graphs, etc.). You also build up a relationship with our software suppliers in order to help shape their roadmaps.
- Presentation and communication: You will present your findings to various parties so that the right package can be chosen in a timely manner. You will explain your research and comparative analysis to various stakeholders active in the sector. You do this with the necessary documentation and evidence and convince your interlocutors of your findings. You give a clear answer to questions from potential users and managers. You are able to fluently translate technical terms into business language and can correctly deal with end-user questions and feedback.
- ICT - Support and evaluation: After the right software system is chosen, you also play an important role. You are present during and after the implementation process and offer support in case of questions and difficulties. You ensure that the implementation of the new system runs smoothly and help users with operational questions. You will also do a final evaluation of the system after implementation. If applicable, you will also draw up manuals and instructions for the end users. You provide 2nd line support for the applications within your domain to the users and go on site at one of our sites if necessary.
Profile
- You have a degree in computer science, preferably a Master's or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent through experience. It is important that you have a good all-round knowledge of ICT and a good prior knowledge of application management and data analysis.
- You are a fluent communicator and are assertive. You like to present your findings attractively to all kinds of different stakeholders at every level of the organisation, both orally and in writing. You can defend and argue your points of view when talking at management level.
- You have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in IT, preferably in a similar position as an analyst and researcher. You will mainly focus on packages for services food & digital.
- If you have experience with digital applications and/or marketing, that is an asset. Of course, you can also be deployed for another project.
- If you have a background in the world of hospitality & food, this is definitely an asset. After all, you will be working with food & digital-related packages, such as a menu management system.
- You are independent and proactive, but you are also a team player with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders. You will regularly reflect and consult with your colleagues on all kinds of projects and practical matters. You are a team player.
- You are fluent in 1 of the 2 national languages, and can also speak and write English very well. Mastering both national languages is an asset.
- You have a driving licence B. In this position, you have a lot of contact with managers and will also provide operational support on sites in connection with your analyses. You will travel to different locations in Belgium on a regular basis.
- You are flexible and like variety in your work. This position is an analytical job where no two working days are the same. You will perform analyses on the computer, but will also go on sites for operational support and consultation. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously, which makes it important that you enjoy problem solving and are able to manage your priorities independently.
