Job description
The position includes the following tasks:
- As a data manager, you will be responsible for organizing, managing, and archiving biological collections and databases in the research groups of Evolutionary Ecology, Functional Morphology, and Behavioral Ecology & Ecophysiology.
- You will support a dynamic team of both established and early-career researchers with a strong international profile. You will work with a senior data manager, dividing tasks in mutual consultation and in coordination with the head of the research unit.
- You will develop and maintain the back-end and front-end of databases and software for data collection.
- You will help maintain various servers and refine or add functionalities to existing databases.
- You will support and guide researchers in various aspects of data management, including drafting and following up on Data Management Plans (DMPs).
- You will assist researchers in using the HPC (High-Performance Computing) and related data storage systems.
- You will help with gatekeeping and inventorying biological sample collections.
- You will offer your expertise to advise other research groups within the department.
