Job description

As an HR Expert at Volkswagen International Belgium, you will play a crucial role in managing HR processes across payroll, compensation, training, recruitment, and employee relations. Working closely with the HR Assistant (working at 50% for HR) and reporting to the Managing Director, you will contribute to the company's commitment to a positive and inclusive workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll & Compensation: Oversee payroll administration, ensuring timely and accurate payments and benefits.
  • HR Administration: Manage a variety of HR functions including labour agreements, work permits, personal files, and more.
  • Training & Development: Identify training needs, develop plans, manage the training budget, and organize workshops and trainings.
  • Recruitment & Selection: Lead the full recruitment cycle from job posting to onboarding in close collaboration with department heads.
  • Projects & Reporting: Improve HR processes, design new policies, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements and labour laws.
  • Employee Relations: Act as the first point of contact for employees and managers, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Wellbeing & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, contributing to a safe working environment.

Profile

The ideal candidate for this HR Expert role is someone with the following:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in HR Generalist roles, with a focus on payroll (international corporate experience is a plus).
  • Education: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources or a related field.
  • Languages: Fluent in French Dutch and English
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of labour law, social law, and HR best practices; strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal Skills: A collaborative team player who can manage stress effectively and handle confidential information with professionalism.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Outlook and Excel; familiarity with Protime and Acerta Connect is an advantage.
  • Certifications: A certification as a Prevention Advisor (level III minimum) is not required, but it is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should be committed to obtaining it.
