To support our further growth ambitions, brantsandpatents is looking for a Patent Engineer or (partially qualified) European Patent Attorney with a technical background. As a patent engineer, you will
analyze the R&D activities and innovations of your clients to develop an appropriate IP strategy. This in our
brand-new office in the CBR building in Brussels (Watermaal-Bosvoorde) Within the patent department, you will collaborate with other patent engineers and patent paralegals. In this varied role, you will be responsible for
mapping technical inventions,
drafting patent applications, and
managing and guiding clients' patent portfolios. You will monitor competitive innovations and advise on potential conflicts when necessary. Proactively, you will also propose necessary solutions. You have or are... - A university degree with a background in mechanical engineering, physics, mechanics, IT, electronics, etc. A PhD is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical skills and a focus on quality and results.
- A good command of languages (French or Dutch as mother tongue with a strong command of English)
- Interest in legal principles.
- Willing to invest in training to become a patent attorney.
- Open to work occasionally at our office in Ghent.
