Our partner is Belgium's high-voltage electricity transmission system operator. Based in Brussels, they are looking for a Technical Expert FAT

The Technical Expert FAT is responsible for preparing configuration files for protection relays (e.g., distance and differential protection) based on studies by designers. They ensure the protection cabinets work as intended, test them at the factory, and improve standards based on feedback.

• Customize configuration files for protection relays to match project requirements.
  
• Support and troubleshoot during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to ensure cabinets meet project standards.
  
• Audit protection cabinets during FAT to verify quality.
  
• Coordinate with suppliers and Elia’s teams.
  
• Improve and develop standards based on feedback.
  
• Answer designers' questions about standard diagrams and configuration files.
  
• Review technical diagrams and configuration files for quality assurance.
  
• Apply and monitor compliance with standards in their field.
  
• Manage and regularly review their own schedule.
  
• Provide remote support for teams at Elia’s high-voltage substations during commissioning.
  
• Audit study documents to ensure alignment with standards.
  

• Bachelor’s or technical degree in electronics, electromechanics, or electrical engineering
  
• Experience in electrical commissioning
  
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English, written and spoken.
  
• Strong interest in electrical engineering and a desire to deepen expertise.
  
• Problem-solving, customer-focused, and result-oriented mindset.
  
• Team player with strong communication skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and proactively.
  
• Willing to visit suppliers of protection cabinets in Belgium.
